Meet Tamnika “Tammy” Walton

Tammy began her career in the field as a licensed substance abuse counselor with a strategic focus on mental health and trauma. She followed this life calling several years ago by volunteering at her church to assist members struggling with host of issues ranging from abuse and grief to chemical dependency. She subsequently earned an Honor’s Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is dedicated to working with patients suffering from substance use, mental health challenges as well as life challenges. She utilizes a range of modalities with the most frequent being Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Away from work, Tammy is a mother of two children and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
