Meet NICK OVERBECK

Nick Overbeck | Clinical Director of ARC On Campus

Clinical Director of ARC On Campus - LPC, LCDC

Nick graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master’s degree in Counseling and is both a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Nick has nearly a decade of experience in mental health including college counseling, trauma informed treatment, career counseling, suicide prevention, crisis intervention, addiction treatment, promoting mental/emotional wellness in working professionals, and working with loved ones of those affected by addiction and/or mental illness. He utilizes techniques borrowed from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Trauma Informed Care.

As a counselor, Nick believes that therapy is about collaboration. Every individual that seeks help has a different culture, religion, outlook on life, upbringing, strengths, and overall experience that makes them and their story unique; there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all treatment. His clinical approach involves working together to form new, healthier habits, ways of thinking, and strategies to cope with life in more meaningful ways. Additionally, Nick believes that humor, laughter, and establishing a sense of joy and fun in our lives help us to reconnect to who we truly are and want to become.
