If you’re taking 7-OH every few hours because you feel sick when you don’t, you’re not imagining it and it isn’t a willpower problem. 7-OH (7-hydroxymitragynine) acts on the same brain receptors as opioids, and real physical dependence can build fast — whether you started it to get off something stronger, or picked up a “legal” gummy for pain, stress, or energy and never meant to end up here. Arise treats exactly this, across 12 locations in Texas and by telehealth, without asking you to put your job or your family on hold.

Why 7-OH is so hard to stop on your own

Concentrated 7-OH is far stronger than the mitragynine in traditional kratom leaf — it’s a potent opioid-receptor agonist. With regular use, tolerance climbs and the body adapts, so stopping sets off withdrawal that feels like opioid withdrawal: anxiety and restlessness, sweating and chills, nausea and stomach cramps, muscle and bone aches, insomnia, and powerful cravings. None of that means you’re weak. It means your body is dependent on a drug, and getting off it safely usually takes medical support — not just willpower.

There’s a second risk right now. As federal restrictions tighten and supply gets unpredictable, the most dangerous move a dependent person can make is replacing 7-OH with street opioids or counterfeit pills. In the fentanyl era, that trade can be fatal. The safe path is medically supported withdrawal and real structure — and that’s what we do.

You don’t have to white-knuckle it — and you don’t have to go to the street.

If you’re dependent on 7-OH, call us before you run out. We can verify your coverage the same day and get you into care quickly — and coordinate medically supervised detox first if that’s what you need. Call 888-339-2747.

Is 7-OH banned? Where the law stands right now

As of this writing, 7-OH is not yet federally scheduled — but that’s changing. The DEA is actively moving to place concentrated 7-OH and several related compounds in Schedule I, and some of those related compounds have already been temporarily scheduled. The practical takeaway hasn’t changed: supply is getting restricted and unpredictable, so if you’re dependent, now is the time to get help rather than wait for a cutoff. Read our 7-OH ban update for the latest.

Frequently asked questions

Is 7-OH addictive?

Yes. Concentrated 7-OH acts on opioid receptors, so regular use can lead to tolerance and physical dependence — often faster than people expect. If you feel withdrawal when you skip a dose, that’s dependence, and it’s treatable.

What are 7-OH withdrawal symptoms?

They resemble opioid withdrawal: anxiety, restlessness, sweating and chills, nausea and stomach cramps, muscle and bone aches, insomnia, and strong cravings. Medical support makes withdrawal safer and far more manageable.

Do you treat kratom addiction too?

Yes. We treat dependence on both concentrated 7-OH products and traditional kratom, as well as other opioids. The treatment approach is the same clinical, medically supported path.

Is 7-OH illegal?

Not federally scheduled as of this writing, though the DEA is moving to restrict concentrated 7-OH and related compounds. Legal status doesn’t change whether it’s addictive — and it is.

Does insurance cover 7-OH treatment?

Most major plans cover outpatient addiction treatment, and Arise accepts most of them. We verify your specific benefits the same day you call, at no cost.

How soon can I start?

Most clients begin outpatient care within 24–48 hours. If you need medically supervised detox first, we coordinate that right away so there’s no gap.

Do I have to stop working to get treatment?

No. Our outpatient programs include day and evening tracks and a telehealth option, so most people keep working and living at home throughout treatment.
