After a long career in business technology project management, Debbie looked for an outlet for her caring and concern about those trapped in addiction and made a choice to become a counselor in the addiction recovery field. After getting her associate’s degree in Drug and Alcohol Counseling and working as an LCDC Intern for a year, Debbie enrolled in and completed Tarleton State University’s Master of Science Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. She is currently working toward full state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Rhea Lester, MEd, LPC-S, IFSLv2.
Debbie is passionate about helping clients find lasting sobriety by building purposeful and productive lives. Combining empathy and compassion with motivational interviewing, collaboration, and mindfulness, Debbie helps the client find calm in sobriety so that they are free to envision and enact a satisfying life. A lifelong learner, Debbie avidly listens to podcasts, watches documentaries, and takes online classes to increase her knowledge of the mental health field. Whenever she encounters some free time, she loves spending time with family (especially the grandkids), walking her dogs, and drawing.
