Get structured, evidence-based addiction treatment from home — anywhere in Texas. Arise Recovery Centers’ online intensive outpatient program brings the same clinical care as our in-person IOP to your screen.
A virtual IOP in Texas lets you take part in an intensive outpatient program for alcohol or drug addiction through secure video sessions, while continuing to live at home and keep up with work, school, or family. Arise Recovery Centers offers online IOP to adults across the entire state — so quality treatment no longer depends on how close you live to a facility.
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a structured level of addiction care that sits between weekly therapy and residential treatment. A virtual or online IOP delivers that same structure — group therapy, individual counseling, and education — over secure, HIPAA-conscious video instead of in a clinic. You attend several hours of programming each week from a private space at home.
Virtual IOP is designed for people who need more support than a weekly appointment but do not require 24/7 supervision or medically supervised detox. It is a common step down from inpatient or PHP care, and a common step up when outpatient therapy alone isn’t enough.
| Detail | What to expect |

| Format | Live video group & individual sessions (telehealth) |
| Time commitment | About 10 hours/week — three 3-hour group sessions plus 1 hour of individual therapy |
| Group size | Small online groups for privacy and connection |
| Schedule | Groups Mon, Tue & Thu — choose a morning (9am–noon) or evening (6–9pm) track. Saturday make-up sessions available. |
| Program length | Individualized — averages about 8 weeks |
| Who it’s for | Adults 18+ in Texas with alcohol or drug use disorders |
| Coverage area | Anywhere in Texas via telehealth + 12 in-person locations |

You start with a confidential conversation and clinical assessment. This determines whether virtual IOP is the right level of care for your situation — or whether a higher level (such as detox or PHP) would be safer first.
Our team verifies your insurance benefits and explains any costs before treatment begins, so there are no surprises.
You join live video groups and individual therapy each week, in small online groups. Sessions include at least one hour of individual therapy per week with a master’s-level clinician, grounded in evidence-based practices and the principles of 12-step recovery.
As you progress, programming steps down in intensity, and we help you build an aftercare and relapse-prevention plan to support long-term recovery.
A clinical assessment confirms the appropriate level of care for each person.
Online IOP tends to be a strong fit when you:

Because our IOP is delivered by Texas-based clinicians over telehealth, you can join from Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, the Rio Grande Valley, or any small town in between. Prefer in-person care, or want a hybrid of both? Arise also operates 12 outpatient locations across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, Austin, and Houston.
Most major insurance plans cover medically necessary intensive outpatient treatment, and that coverage generally extends to telehealth. Arise Recovery Centers accepts most major insurance providers and will verify your benefits — including any copay or deductible — before you begin, so you know what to expect.
Virtual IOP is our most popular online program, but it isn’t the only one. Arise delivers its full outpatient continuum via secure telehealth, so you can start at the level of care you need — and step down as you progress — without ever leaving home.
Our highest level of outpatient care, with full-day structured treatment delivered online. A fit when you need more support than IOP provides but don’t require residential care.
About 10 hours per week of group and individual therapy over secure video. Morning and evening tracks, so treatment fits around work and family.
A step-down from IOP with fewer weekly hours. Keeps structure and accountability in place as you transition back to everyday life.
One-on-one telehealth sessions with a licensed Texas counselor, available as part of a program or on their own.
Every online program is run by the same licensed clinicians who staff our 12 Texas locations, and most major insurance plans cover telehealth treatment the same way they cover in-person care. Call (888) 339-2747 and we’ll help you find the right starting point.
