Meet Rick Bingham

Rick Bingham - Arise Recovery Centers Group Facilitator

Rick has been working in the field of addiction treatment for 44 years. He has worked with modalities of addiction treatment, from inpatient detox to wilderness therapy. Previously, Rick was the Consultant and Texas Regional Director for American Health Services from 2016 to 2020. He was the Program Manager for the Anti-Aging and Longevity Center of Texas, from 2003-2019. He has been working in the field of medication assisted recovery & harm reduction for the past 30 years.  Rick is highly involved as a speaker, trainer, & acu-detox specialist. He is a published author, being a major contributor to “Two Miles or Twenty Minutes,” which is an account of the values of wilderness experiences.  He moonlights doing acu-detox treatments, group facilitating for Addicare outpatient services in Garland, as well as Arise Recovery Centers in the DFW area, Drug Offender classes for Genesis Counseling Associates in Dallas.  Rick is the owner/operator of Purple Bandana Education & Recovery Resources working as a partner with Addiction Recovery Resources in Carrollton, Texas. Over the years, he has served on various boards: Wilderness Expeditions, Pettijohn Springs Christian Camp (past president), Recovery Health Care Counselor Training School, USAOTP (past president and advisory board), and the Dallas Chapter of TAAP (past president).  In 2017, Rick was given the SABAL award for his contributions to the field of Medication Assisted Recovery. He was the first recipient of the Marie Huggett Volunteer Award (Fort Worth TAAP) in 2010.  He is a longstanding member of TAAP, since 1992, and is active in both the Dallas and Fort Worth chapters. He is married, has 5 children and 13 grandchildren.  For leisure he enjoys camping/backpacking, golf, photography, woodworking, guitar, Navajo flute, singing southern gospel music, and public speaking.
