Meet Eliyah “Ellie” Hernandez

Eliyah “Ellie” Hernandez is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) supervised by Ashley Kuehne, LPC-S, LCDC. Ellie received her Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in adults from the University of North Texas and a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Ellie utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Expressive Arts Therapy in her work with clients.  Ellie has experience providing individual and group counseling at a residential dual diagnosis treatment center, counseling students at a university counseling clinic, as well as assisting survivors of domestic and sexual violence. 

Ellie is passionate about helping clients with addictions and believes that people are more than a diagnosis or label. Ellie likes to get to know the whole person and strives to create a collaborative and nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel safe to be themselves and share their experiences. Ellie likes to paint, take care of her plants, read, and watch documentaries in her free time.
