Meet SAMANTHA Hodge
Lead Therapist - McKinney, LPC-Intern Supervised by Lori Vann, LPC-S
Samantha Hodge is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern, under the supervision of nationally recognized self-harm expert Lori Vann, LPC-S. Samantha attended the University of Houston while living in The Woodlands, TX, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in Psychology with a minor in Human Development & Family Studies. She then moved to Philadelphia, PA to attend Rosemont College, where she received her Master of Art degree cum laude in Counseling Psychology with a Certification in Forensic Psychology and was recognized with commendation for Outstanding Achievement at the Graduate Level. After returning to Texas, Samantha spent years working in non-profits with indigent populations. When she heard Danny’s passion to provide individualized care and reduce the stigma of addiction, Samantha was drawn to be a part of Arise Recovery Centers.
The foundation of Samantha’s career is built upon recognition of a correlation between adverse life experiences and the use of unhealthy coping skills. By fostering a secure therapeutic relationship, Samantha empowers individuals to overcome personal obstacles and reach customized goals. Throughout her career, Samantha has worked with trauma survivors, individuals struggling with self-harm and thoughts of suicide, and those battling substance use disorders in intensive outpatient and residential settings. Samantha specializes in integrating Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with insight and client-centered approaches. It is Samantha’s personal goal to assist each client in finding meaning after their suffering so that each situation one faces may not feel so hopeless. When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are then challenged to change ourselves.
