Chrissy LaCivita is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (LCDC-Intern). Chrissy received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of California, San Diego. While studying at UCSD, she took every substance abuse and mental health course offered with the hopes of working in the mental health field, as well as different science courses to gain a better understanding of the chemical workings of the brain. Chrissy worked with Dr. George Koob, the current Director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), for a year conducting research in his lab on alcoholism and addiction. Chrissy enrolled at the University of Texas at Arlington to earn her Master’s in Social Work and graduated with honors and a 4.0 GPA.
Chrissy has worked in all levels of care for substance abuse (psychiatric hospitals, inpatient and outpatient facilities) and incorporates an understanding of other aftercare resources such as sober living and recovery groups. Chrissy is knowledgeable in different treatment modalities and joined Arise Recovery Centers with the hopes of helping recovering addicts and their families find who their true selves.
